Cantabile was founded in 2006, and is the culmination of a life-long dream for co-founder and Executive Director Lynne Rheinhardt. A singer since she was two or three years old, she’s been singing, dancing, or acting whenever possible, and has been a member of many groups and ensembles. Her love for small ensemble singing was born in the audition-only Mello-Aires Swing Choir, and the Bel Canto Concert Choir from Edmonds High School. While living in the Olympia area, she performed with Olympia Masterworks Chorale, the Olympia Light Opera Company, Tacoma Master Chorale, UPS Civic Chorus, the Tacoma Symphony Chorus, and Northwest Repertory Singers.

Her stage performances include the role of Marion in The Music Man, and a member of the cast in productions of Oklahoma, a Big Band Production while living in Oak Harbor. Skagit Valley stage performances include Skagit Opera’s The Magic Flute, Pirates of Penzance, Carmen, Marriage of Figaro, Amahl and the Night Visitors, and A Night at the Opera. She is a member of Skagit Valley Chorale, and has been a frequent soloist, including Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Mozart’s Requiem, and the Lord Nelson Mass.

Lynne was chosen to be a featured soloist for the Skagit Valley’s Norwegian Mens’ Chorus, and performed at their West Coast Convention in McIntyre Hall several years ago. She performed a Broadway Plus concert with Barbara King for the Anacortes Art Festival in 2008, and organized and performed a Three Soprano Concert in Anacortes in 2009.

Lynne is very excited about her current job as Director of the Shelter Bay Chorus. She also currently is the Choir Director for the First United Methodist Church in La Conner.
